Montreal’s Pouzza Fest takes place this month from May 19-21, and we’re happy to count down to this festival with you. We will be chatting with a number of the Canadian lineup to get everyone ready for the big event! Monday we spoke with Seth Anderson and now it’s time to speak with Ontario based band, Brutal Youth!

First off, care to introduce yourself to the Canadian Beats readers?

Hi we’re Brutal Youth, can we sleep in your guest room?

Pouzza Fest is in May, which is really the beginning of the summer festival season, how to prepare for the festival season?

Lots of cardio, cutting down on the carbs, breaking out our Salt ‘N’ Peppa mix tape.

Have you taken part in Pouzza Fest before? If so, what is your favourite memory?

Yes. Favorite memory is of an explicit nature and can’t be discussed but trust me it was goooooooooood.

There’s quite a big line-up at Pouzza Fest, who are you most excited to check out at the festival?

Mansbridge, Trigger Happy, and Jon Creeden & the Flying Hellfish

Are you performing at any other festivals this summer that you’d like to tell us about?

-Fest 16 in Florida -Some crochet enthusiast festival
-My mother’s 60th birthday party (“under the sea” themed)

Describe your live show in 5 words, and GO!

Dramatic. Arobic. Eccentric. Electric. I only have four words I can think of… (oh damn is that too many now?)

If you were asked to give an up and coming artist some advice, what would that advice be?

There are better ways to set your money on fire.

What’s up next for you?

New record in the works, US tour, European Tour. Book deal, selling the movie rights to Ben Affleck, hoping Kevin Smith attaches himself as the director, making a cool million, buying an island somewhere tropical, typical punk band stuff…
