For this edition of Inside The Music we are featuring Ryan Howes, the Creative Director of Republic Live. Republic Live is a live entertainment company whose flagship events are Boots and Hearts Music Festival and WayHome Music Festival, which are held each summer at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds just north of Toronto. Canadian Beats contributor, Nicole Wolfe, caught up with Howes during Canadian Music Week at The Phoenix Concert Theatre for the Boots & Hearts + KX Country Hot Shots Concert Series, which showcased emerging country artists. You can check out the photo review of the show here! They discussed his role working behind the scenes in our busy Canadian music market at Republic Live and what fans might expect for this year’s Boots and Hearts Music Festival in August.

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
