Artist: Operators
When: March 31, 2017
Venue: Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto
Genre: Dance Punk
Dance punk group Operators crowded the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on Friday night with a sweaty, electrifying show that only they can pull off. Frontman Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits) never fails to draw in the crowd and their set at the Horseshoe Tavern proved to be no different.
Whipping through the night with punchy vocals and erratic guitar solos, Boeckner’s captivating showmanship shone through strongly while remaining authentic to the music’s raw live sound. Drummer Sam Brown (Divine Fits, New Bomb Turks) was the driving force all night, providing the beats that had the crowd dancing to their heart’s desire. Synth master Devojka topped it all off with bright tones and funky melodies.

I’ve been involved in music my whole life and have developed a passion for helping out or working in the industry any way I can. I’m interested in helping talented artists gain the recognition they deserve in this crazy business. I am currently studying Communication Studies at York University in Toronto, and working at a local theatre doing marketing and communications, as well as helping out a local festival called Rock the Coliseum. Indie, alt-rock/pop, and metal are my favourites but I’m open to all music genres! If I’m not at a show, I’m doing yoga, grabbing coffee, or looking for some craft beer.
