Toronto’s own Anne Douris, known as Bossie, has released a video for her latest track “Shine My Light.” The catchy synth pop number was featured on the soundtrack for new Teletoon kids’ show Princess Sparkly Butt & The Hot Dog Kid. Featuring the show’s co-creator and lead, Kimberly Persona, the song is a true girl power anthem.
On contributing to the show’s soundtrack, Douris says, “I’m super jazzed to have collaborated with Kimberly Persona to make this song for Princess Sparkly Butt & The Hot Dog Kid. The show sends an empowering message to young girls that I feel strongly about – that you have the right to choose what kind of life you want to live, and that traditional gender roles can kiss your glittery butt. “Shine My Light” is about the adventure of figuring out what kind of person you are. Like Princess Kimberly’s adventure, it’s about exploring the unknown universe and discovering your strengths.”
Catch Bossie live at Canadian Music Week on April 19th at the Silver Dollar Room in Toronto.

I’ve been involved in music my whole life and have developed a passion for helping out or working in the industry any way I can. I’m interested in helping talented artists gain the recognition they deserve in this crazy business. I am currently studying Communication Studies at York University in Toronto, and working at a local theatre doing marketing and communications, as well as helping out a local festival called Rock the Coliseum. Indie, alt-rock/pop, and metal are my favourites but I’m open to all music genres! If I’m not at a show, I’m doing yoga, grabbing coffee, or looking for some craft beer.
