Who: Arsoniste, In-Flight Safety, Ria Mae
When: February 23, 2017
Venue: Olympic Community Centre
Where: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia’s GroundSwell Music Festival celebrated its third and final night on Saturday with Arsoniste, In-Flight Safety and headliner Ria Mae at the Olympic Community Centre in Halifax. Arsoniste is a synth pop singer-songwriter featuring a backing band and were first to the stage, followed by indie rock band In-Flight Safety. Ria Mae greeted the crowd around 11pm and played her hits, both fast and slow, and new and old all while interacting with the crowd—including walking into the middle of it and having a dance party. It was a great end to an all around excellent festival full of talented local musicians!

I’m Shayla, and I was born in Saskatoon but moved to Halifax in 2013 for University, and since decided to stay here for a while. I recently received a Bachelor of Design, after studying photography for a year or two as well. I love everything about music and how it has the ability to bring so many people together from across the country and even the world. My passion for music is one of the reasons I moved East to pursue a photography and design career, as I would love to do graphic design and photography within the Canadian music industry.
