East Coast Music Award nominees and showcasing artists announced

The east coast music scene was buzzing this afternoon as the East Coast Music Association gathered in Saint John, New Brunswick to announce this years award nominees. Leading the group with nine nominations is Classified, followed by Ria Mae who has seven, Repartee with five and Caroline Savoie, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, The Motorleague, Ben Caplan, Erin Costelo and Paper Lions all with four.

We here at Canadian Beats have got our own connection to this years awards as we were graciously nominated for Media Outlet of the Year along withEast Of The Dial, Halifax Is Burning, What’s The Finish, and The Barbershop Sessions and if that’s not enough, one of our contributors, Tara Thompson, was nominated for Graphic/Media Artist of the Year!

Winners will be announced during East Coast Music Week in Saint John, NB from April 26-30.

Along with the nominee announcement, a complete list of showcasing artists was announced with acts including Owen Meany’s Batting Stance, Fairgale, Dylan Menzie, Tomato/Tomato, Hillsburn, Quake Matthews and so many more.

This year, nominees and winners were picked by a jury of over 200 industry professionals from the East Coast and across Canada so there is no member vote, however there are two fan voted categories, Entertainer of the Year and Music Video of the Year. The Telegraph Journal is the official sponsor of the 2017 Fans’ Choice Awards Voting, which is now open here: www.tjvote.com. The public can vote once a day until March 15, 2017 at 5PM AST.
