Who: Brett Kissel, Marshall Dane, Small Town Girls
Venue: Georgian Theatre
Where: Barrie, ON
We have been fortunate to join Brett Kissel on many of the stops of his #IceSnow30Below tour across Ontario. On Friday, his tour made its way to Barrie, ON, where he was joined by #KickitwithKissel contest winners, Marshall Dane and Small Town Girls. The Small Town Girls, who won over Brett’s heart with their audition video featuring his song “Canadian Kid”, played this and many other songs as the night’s first opener. Kissel joked on stage that some time in the future he would be asking the girls if he could open at one of their shows. Marshall Dane jumped right into the audience during his first song and kept the crowd engaged during his set, which was oozing with charm and swagger. The two opening acts did a fantastic job warming up the SOLD OUT crowd for Kissel, who performed for over two hours to his adoring fans. Barrie responded with the most energy I have witnessed yet on this tour, which led to a moment of Kissel getting down on his knees and removing his hat out of respect and awe of the crowd. If you are one of the lucky few to have a ticket for one of his remaining shows, you are in for one hell of a performance!

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
