We are pleased to say we had the chance to conduct a Five Questions With segment with Niagara-on-the-lake, ON based band, Heavy Hearts. The band is taking off on the Fiends of Winter tour with Sparrows and Life In Vacuum this February and we wanted to catch up with them before hand!
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Heavy Hearts is Justin, Jamie, Davis & Riley. We’re from Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
We’re an alternative rock band. Our writing style always kind of varies between songs but usually they come together with a guitar riff that eventually turns into a rough skeleton of a song that we play over and over again until it feels right.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
In February we’re heading out on the Fiends of Winter tour with Sparrows & Life In Vacuum. We try to fit as many songs into our set as possible and maintain a high energy.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
The song Deep End, off of our most recent record “Bliss” is one of our favourites. But just listen to the whole record.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
Canadian music is in a great spot right now, there are a ton of great bands around. Listen to Safe To Say, Pine, Rarity & Coldfront.
