Five Questions With Life In Vacuum

Ontario band, Life In Vacuum are one of the three bands taking part in the Fiends Of Winter Tour this February! They will be joined by Heavy Hearts and Sparrows, and we will be speaking with each of them, but first it’s Life In Vacuum!

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello we are Life In Vacuum.  We are a 3 piece band from KW/Toronto and we make noisy post/punk/rock songs that leave us breathless. We love playing live and the energy that comes with it and have toured a lot since this band started.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

We like making catchy songs while experimenting with different time signatures, styles and sounds, angular riffs and hooky melodies. Mixing punk, math rock, hardcore and other styles gave us our “sound”. Growing up we liked bands like At the Drive-In, Refused, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Constantines, Fugazi, Don Caballero etc.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Yes, we have a show at Baby G in Toronto on January 21st and in February we are hitting the road with label buds Sparrows and Heavy Hearts as part of Fiends Of Winter tour all across Ontario. You can expect a lot of sweat, raw energy, loud noise and dancing.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would you recommend?

“You Did It To Yourself”

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
