The Katherines, are three talented ladies from the Vancouver area. To Bring You my Heart is their debut LP. Not many bands release full albums anymore, I personally miss it. It was a treat to sit down and listen to the sometimes 80’s flare mixed with pop. It was a melding of genres with stories to hear.
“Cherry Lips” opens the album with a trippy and wispy vibe. I quite enjoyed the lyrics in each song. “Better off” has a few 80’s / electronic moments paired with some great poetic lyrics. A favorite for me would be “Minefield”. It’s just a good and catchy track that has more of an alternative rock sound. With thirteen tracks to explore there is bound to be one that is your favorite.
Two album release parties are happening at the end of this month. One in Vancouver and one in Toronto, so be sure to check them out!

I wear many hats, such as working full time as an ophthalmic assistant, Birth Doula, selling Younique- and now I also have taken up writing with Canadian Beats. I have always enjoyed writing, and I am so excited to be doing it again. We all need outlets and this for me is something that I love to do. Music has always been a big part of my life, and attending concerts is one of my favorite things to do. The energy that I get from seeing a band play live is like no other, I think it’s almost an addiction for me!
I tend to lean towards rock, alternative, indie, folk and acoustic music- but I am also open to listening to something new too! Maybe I’ll see you around at a concert!
