Artists: Tokyo Police Club, Your Boy Tony Braxton, Lookalike
Genre: Rock
Venue: The Mod Club, Toronto
When: December 10, 2016
This past weekend, Tokyo Police Club took over the Mod Club Theatre in Toronto for three sold out nights in a row. Canadian Beats was lucky enough to be there on the last night to capture all the magic and absolutely rock out.
Opening the evening was St. John’s dance rock duo Lookalike, who made it their mission to get the crowd jamming and grooving. Following their set Your Boy Tony Braxton took the stage with the perfect blend of rock, jazz, and masterful musicianship. Tokyo Police Club brought their all to the stage with an unforgettable, energetic set featuring hits like “Not My Girl” and “My House.” Towards the end of their set, the band played their first EP A Lesson in Crime in its entirety, including gems like “Cheer it On” and “Nature of the Experiment.” Check out the photos from the exciting night!

I’ve been involved in music my whole life and have developed a passion for helping out or working in the industry any way I can. I’m interested in helping talented artists gain the recognition they deserve in this crazy business. I am currently studying Communication Studies at York University in Toronto, and working at a local theatre doing marketing and communications, as well as helping out a local festival called Rock the Coliseum. Indie, alt-rock/pop, and metal are my favourites but I’m open to all music genres! If I’m not at a show, I’m doing yoga, grabbing coffee, or looking for some craft beer.
