The Alpacas, from Barrie, ON, have released the video for their latest single, “Cab Fare”. The song was produced, engineered and mixed by Kevin Dietz (The Cranberries, Alexisonfire, Placebo, Nelly Furtado) and was recorded at Metalworks in Toronto and Slipone Digital in Newmarket. Their forthcoming LP will be released by Willow Music on October 14, 2016.
The band describes their thoughts on the song,
“”Cab Fare” is partially about the end of a night with your friends. Knowing that things in life need to change, although a big part of you wants to them to stay the same. It’s a very twenty-something thought, but we felt compelled to document it. Plus, late night themes just go great with that guitar riff.”
The Alpacas are no strangers to Canadian Beats. We last caught up with them at The Sound of Music Festival in Burlington, ON, when they performed with local band, Was It The Walrus. You can check out our photo review of the show here
I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
