When I think about music festivals I don’t normally think about Carbonear, NL but I can tell that’s about to change. The first, of what will hopefully be the annual, New Branch Music and Arts Festival happened last weekend at Paddy’s Garden with a lineup of all Newfoundland artists.
The weather wasn’t great for the Friday evening portion of the festival but from what I’ve heard that didn’t dampen anyones spirits. The drive to Carbonearon Saturday morning had me questioning whether the same would happen but as I got closer the sun started to break through the clouds so I knew we were in for a good day. While still chilly throughout the afternoon, that didn’t stop anyone from having a good time listening to some great music, checking out local art, and having a few pizza cones courtesy of Kono Pizza.
Festival go-ers were treated to music of all genres on Saturday including Mike Sixonate, Bridges, The Combine, Hot x Proxy, Adam Baxter and more! Check out our photos from Saturday below:

I’m Tara and I’m a graphic designer from Newfoundland. I am very fortunate to live in a city where there is a ton of amazing musicians. I’ve grown very fond of the local music scene in St. John’s and some of my favorite bands are ones I’ve met through going to local shows.
