Countdown to New Branch Music & Arts Festival – Interview with Bridges

Last but not least in our series of countdown interviews for New Branch Music and Arts Festival is none other then Bridges. They’ll be taking the stage on Saturday, joining Mike Sixonate, Newspaper Fashion Show, Hot x Proxy, Adam Baxter and more.

First off, can you introduce yourself to our readers? What day are you playing New Branch?

Hey! We’re BRIDGES and we’re playing Saturday at 4:30pm.

This is the first year for the New Branch Music & Arts Festival, what are you most excited about?

Really excited about spending the weekend camping out in Carbonear and taking in all of the deadly local music.

The New Branch roster is stacked with tons of great NL acts, which acts are you looking forward to the most?

Stoked to see The Once and Amelia Curran of course – also can’t wait to see what The Combine has in store.

Why do you think Newfoundland needs a festival that focuses on homegrown talent? What do you hope comes from this first year of New Branch?

Gene is really doing a great thing here. We hope that this festival goes on to show that Newfoundland has more music to offer than traditional music. Our music scene is very diverse and this is an amazing outlet to show it off.

What can festival goers expect to see from your set?

Loud. Raw. Energy.

What’s next for you after the festival?

At the beginning of August we began recording our second full length album so we’ll be busy finishing up recording and working on post production. We have no date set yet but we’re hoping for a late 2016 or early 2017 release. You’ll be hearing much more from us soon.
