Limestone Chorus brought the party to the Burdock in Toronto to celebrate the release of their latest album Deer Friends. The cozy venue was packed with excited fans and hosted a line up of talented folk artists. Featuring Lake Forest’s humble crooning and acoustic tunes, Shanti & Vale’s heartwarming performance, A Fellow Ship’s high energy dance numbers, and Limestone Chorus’ soulful folk, the show had something for everyone.
Lake Forest opened the evening with an intimate set of ambient folk tunes that seem minimalistic in nature, yet effectively draw in the audience. As fans began piling into the venue, Lake Forest provided the perfect atmosphere to capture their attention. Lake Forest’s music is raw and stripped down, which allows the listener to easily focus on the theme of each song.
Shanti & Vale hit the stage next, playing a number of beautiful melodies and embodying a sound that seems larger than just the two of them. Armed with acoustic guitars, the occasional violin and airy vocals, the duo instantly drew a crowd to the front of the stage. Their music has a captivating essence to it as their voices effortlessly blend together and they perform with a hint of subtle energy that is warm and inviting.
A Fellow Ship took the stage and instantly started a party with a burst of energy that kept the crowd cheering and dancing throughout the evening. Playing a number of upbeat, feel good tunes it was clear that A Fellow Ship knows how to command a show as they jumped into the crowd and danced with their fans.
As Limestone Chorus headed on stage, the excitement continued to build. Playing a blend of folk rock and soulful numbers, the band displayed their versatility as musicians and proved that they really know how to connect with their fans. From high energy toe-tapping tunes to moving acoustic melodies, their set included the perfect balance of everything Limestone Chorus has to offer.

I’ve been involved in music my whole life and have developed a passion for helping out or working in the industry any way I can. I’m interested in helping talented artists gain the recognition they deserve in this crazy business. I am currently studying Communication Studies at York University in Toronto, and working at a local theatre doing marketing and communications, as well as helping out a local festival called Rock the Coliseum. Indie, alt-rock/pop, and metal are my favourites but I’m open to all music genres! If I’m not at a show, I’m doing yoga, grabbing coffee, or looking for some craft beer.
