Well, this album had me cooking fast with creativity while it was playing very loud on my Bose surround sound system. The Paul DesLauriers Band has released their new album Relentless on June 3, 2016. Let me tell you that this album blew me away. It inspired me to go and watch the movie Cross Roads with Ralph Macchio and Joe Seneca. This album certainly has all the essentials to make up a great Blues-Rock album. All the tracks on here bring out that blues man in me. The band is made up of lead singer-guitarist Paul DesLauriers, the bassist Greg Morency and drummer Sam Harrisson and this trio brings that deep rooted Canadian Blues sound to the world again.

My favourite tracks are “If I Still Had You” which details the mercy of the wants and needs in the relationship that the song is inspired by. I just love the sound and believe me, it is a sound that could have easily been played in the 50’s and 60’s and it is a sound that can still be played to this day. The Paul DesLauriers Band is a very unique band.

The next track I like is “Up in the Air” the intro to the song grabbed me right away and the hooks through the song are phenomenal. Paul has a great voice that rings out loud in this song. The drums and bass hold everything together and make it sound complete. In my opinion all the songs on this album are top notch rock and blues songs. So with the releasing of this album and also receiving awards from the Maple Blues and Lys Blues awards that are held every year, these guys are on fire. I suggest you enjoy this album when you have a bit of free time, as it really shouldn’t be wasted with distracting noise around you, their music deserves all your attention.
