Review – Jack Lavoie Band

Album: Out of the Box
Release Date: April 29, 2016
Genre: Folk/ Rock

Quebec based folk/ rock artist, Jack Lavoie along with his band mates, Stephan Desbiens, Dan Cooper and J.E. Marcoux released an album entitled Out of the Box on April 29, 2016. The album features ten perfectly executed tracks.

The album starts with “For a Friend”; I immediately pictured this track in a movie about friends, as a part of a montage showing them throughout their lives.

“Going with you” is an upbeat track that I immediately was singing along with, and daydreaming about going away with a loved one, and just being together. This had to be one of my favourites on the album, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially fans of folk or pop rock.

Another song that caught my attention was “Save Me from myself”, I love the beat as well as the way the lyrics flow perfectly with the music. The lyrics “I need someone to save me from all this madness/ I need someone to save me from myself” could relate to many listeners, which makes a great song in my books.

The talent from the Jack Lavoie Band is certainly apparent on this album; I enjoyed each and every song, whether it’s the upbeat “Going with you” or the slower “Heal”. So go grab your very own copy on iTunes now!
