Artists: Chad Brownlee with opening acts Ty Baynton and Jason Weinberg
Genre: Country
Venue: The Kee To Bala
Date: June 25, 2016
On an extremely hot, humid night in Muskoka, inside The Kee To Bala was even hotter and steamier….And, I’m not just talking about the temperature! Cabin Media brought the first big concert of the summer to The Kee, and what a show it was.
The night started off with new-comer, Jason Weinberg. He and his accompanist and first cousin, Stuart Weinberg, got the crowd going with several current country hit covers.

Next up, Ty Baynton and his band. It is always a pleasure to see Baynton perform. He’s a natural on stage and interacts well with the audience. He played a nice mix of his original tunes and covers to get the crowd hyped up that much more. The biggest buzz of his set was when he broke into the Three Doors Down hit, “Kryptonite”.

Finally, the man we’d all been waiting for, MDM Recordings artist, Chad Brownlee hit the stage! Effortlessly performing one hit after another, including the latest two off his current CD, “Hearts On Fire” and “I Hate You For It”. With every tune, the crowd got turned up a little more. The band played right into the energy with powerful instrumental solos and stage choreography. They worked it!

Of course, when the set was done and the band left the stage, the chants began from the floor for encore! Humbly, Brownlee returned to the stage alone with his guitar and broke into a mix of the Ed Sheeran hit, “Thinking Out Loud”, which Brownlee recorded a cover version of after his last tour, when the song became a fan favourite at his shows; and Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man”. Who know these two tunes could fit so beautiful together? It was a grand sing-along by everyone there and the cheers when it was over, I’m sure, could be heard in Toronto! The rest of the band joined Brownlee to perform a few more tunes before closing out a very successful night.
Thank you to Cabin Media, the staff and security at The Kee to Bala and everyone involved for making this a great launch to the summer concert season!

Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
