Cavendish Beach Music Festival is quickly approaching, and we’re so happy to be a part of the buzz around this amazing festival. Yesterday we shared our countdown interview with Jason Benoit with you all, and today we’re happy to present the next in our series, with Manitoba country duo, Petric. The boys of Petric are no stranger to Canadian Beats, we are huge fans of the brothers, and are more than happy to host features with them anytime possible! Find out what they had to say surrounding CBMF 2016.
First off, care to introduce yourselves to the Canadian Beats readers?
We are Petric. We are brothers! Older one is Jason, younger one is Tom.
Cavendish Beach Music Festival is one of Canada’s strictly Country festivals, and it’s one of the biggest out there, how does it feel to be a part of it?
It’s such an honour to be able to be apart of Cavendish Beach Music Festival. We have heard such amazing things about this festival and the fans that attend it every year, so we’re very excited!
Have you taken part in CBMF in the past? If so, what is your favourite memory from previous years? If you haven’t taken part in CBMF in the past, what are you most looking forward to for this year?
This is our first year! One of the best things about the music business is you get to travel all over the country. We only went out to PEI for the first time this past May. So we’re both really excited to get to come back and see another part of the island. The east coast has been really supportive of our music, so it’ll be great to bring the full show out that way.
You are in a line-up of extremely talented Country artists, who are you most excited to check out at the festival?
Blake Shelton is pretty amazing! He’s probably at the top of the list.
Are you performing at any other festivals this summer that you’d like to tell us about?
Dauphins Countryfest, Craven Country Jamboree, Kenora Harbourfest, Country Thunder in Calgary, and Hanover Ag. Festival.
Describe your live show using only 5 words, and GO!
High energy, lots of fun!
If you were asked to give a rising country artist some advice, what would that advice be?
Figure out what you’re good at and what you’re not so good at. Become the best you can possibly be at what you are good at, and find a way to be better or find someone to help you be better at what you are not so good at.
What’s up next for you?
This is our first year playing really big festivals, so right now this is our main focus!
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
