Rock the Coliseum releases 2016 lineup

Rock the Coliseum 2016 is back for its tenth consecutive year, and this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever!

Founded in 2006, Rock the Coliseum (RTC) is an annual, all-ages, free music festival in Mississauga that celebrates all aspects of independent Canadian music. Taking place in Celebration Square by Mississauga’s City Hall, RTC’s goal is to highlight all the best talent that the local music scene has to offer.

For 2016 festival-goers can expect a diverse, inclusive line-up that features slices of the best independent Canadian music in the GTA, ranging from indie-rock to dark pop to prog metal orchestra to skate punk throwback, and the return of the pro b-boy/b-girl break battle that has been such an integral part of the festival for the last few years!

Day 1 will take place on August 12 and feature eight local acts, with genres ranging from alt-pop to pop punk to experimental electronic. HIGHS and Stuck on Planet Earth are set to headline the evening. Day 2 on August 13 will host seven bands in total, plus an exciting top 8 pro break dance battle presented by Ground Illusionz. The show will feature acclaimed Toronto DJ Hey! DW and electro-pop group Featurette.
