Where: Edmonton, Alberta
Venue: Commonwealth Stadium
When: June 29th 2016
In the last month I have really seen people come together and not just in the province of Alberta, but all across the country to help with
fire relief in Fort McMurray. Music has been a huge support and outlet for almost everyone involved or touched by whats going on up there. Charity concerts have been popping up all across the country since the day 90,000 people were forced from their homes. So much so we made a list of over 20 in the first week and barely touched the surface. Well the out-pour of kindness and coming together hasn’t stopped yet, in fact, it seems to have only picked up speed. Just announced is an incredible list of artists coming together to play Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium. The poster says “The show goes rain or shine….we’re praying for rain”. 100% of the funds raised will remain in the communities of Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo. The show is highly anticipated with acts like Nickelback, Blue Rodeo, Corb Lund, Dean Brody, The Rankin Family, Dallas Smith, Brett Kissel, Randy Bachman, Alan Doyle, The Beautiful Gypsies, Ian Tyson, Dear Rouge and High Valley.
Tickets are available at ticketmaster. This is not something you want to miss, Music heals, and nothing brings us together more. Alberta Thanks you for helping us remain Alberta strong.
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
