Sweet Alibi, from Winnipeg, rolled into my hometown of Georgetown to put on a performance at Uncorked on Main. Jess Rae Ayre, Amber Rose and Michelle Anderson tried to captivate the audience with their charming melodies and wonderful harmonies but the small audience seemed more concerned with their meals and talking with their friends then listening to this wonderful group of performers. After a few songs and a bit of story telling they decided to do a great rendition of Bob Dylan’s, “You Gotta Serve Someone”.
These ladies are very talented and deserve a much better stage than the one that was presented to them. I look forward to seeing them again where the surroundings will more accurately represent their talent.
Currently their single “Middle Ground” stands at number 14 on CBC Radio 2 top 20 countdown.

I shoot live music performances and concerts. I love the excitement of entering a venue, knowing that I’ll be photographing a concert and enjoying the energy of the crowd. There’s nothing like being in a venue and looking at the expressions on the faces of people who are all transfixed by the talent onstage. I shoot about 120 shows each year, averaging 2 bands per show, as well as several all-day and weekend festivals in and around Southern Ontario. From the large venues to very small ones, bright lights or barely lit stages, I hope that my photos capture the enjoyment the artists have in doing what they love to do.
