If you are a country music fan chances are you’re familiar with Big Valley Jamboree, especially if you are Albertan. This year marks the 24th year of this incredible display of the worlds best in country music descending on Camrose, Alberta for an unforgettable weekend. Big Valley Jamboree takes place on July 28th-31st. If you are counting, as so many people are, that’s 79 days. And once you see the mind blowing line up for BVJ 2016 you will understand why everyone is so excited!
Friday gets the party started with artists like Lindsay Broughton, Aaron Goodvin, Collin Raye, Jo Dee Messina and headliner, the one and only Dierks Bentley. That’s only day one! You still have two full days left to survive! Saturday continues the boot stomping fun with Alee, Autumn Hill, Charles Esten and Clare Bowen, Gary Allan and everyone’s favourite redneck Blake Shelton. As if you could handle any more right! Well pull in those reins because we ain’t done yet! Sunday funday! We have The Dead South, Lindi Ortega, John Michael Montgomery, High Valley, the country boy that can take my time any day, Sam Hunt and of course the queen of country music herself Carrie Underwood. Did I mention this is only on the main stage! Unbelievable!
There are still tickets left for the festival of the summer. You can buy individual day general admission for $110.00 or all three days for only $235.00. There are also some other packages that include standing room tickets closer to the stage. It’s an incredible price for a weekend you will never forget! Check out their website for more information and tickets. If you hurry there might even be a camping spot left on the grounds with your name on it.
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
