Who: Luke McMaster
When: April 27, 2016
Venue: The Revival Bar
Where: Toronto, Ontario
Genre: Pop Soul
For Luke McMaster fans, Wednesday April 27th was a long anticipated night. We were witness to the launch of Trending, an album that has been a few years in the making. The Revival Bar was the perfect venue to showcase McMaster. It was classy, intimate and inviting.
Friends and family gathered from near and far to see McMaster, along with fellow band mates, Chris Briscoe and Arun Chaturvedi, perform several tracks from this stellar CD. Songs like the title track, “Trending”, “Vodka Martini”, “Damn!” and “Sweet Spot (Is This How It Feels)” kept the audience moving with toes tapping, hands clapping and, for the more adventurous ones, outright dancing the night away. The evening’s two sets also included a Motown Medley and a few of McMaster’s earlier hits, “Good Morning Beautiful”, from his All Roads CD and “Thank You”, a hit from his duo days with Rob James (McMaster and James). In all, over 20 songs were performed and the crowd could have listened to 20 more.
Following the performance, McMaster and his band mixed and mingled among the patrons. It was an enjoyable night and my copy of the CD has been played at least once a day since the show. This will now be added to my Summer 2016 road trip music. It is fresh, with a classic soulful touch.

Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
