Hedley’s Hello World Tour rolled into southern Ontario for the first show in Hamilton, Ontario. Hedley delighted the near sold out crowd of 9000. Opening with their video of the Hedley’s living in Hamilton and then coming out and rocking their fans. Their set was spirited as well as highly energetic. Jacob has the energy of a 20 year old as he danced and sang the night away.
Up first though was young Francesco Yates who put on a rocking set of originals although the audience did not really appreciate it as most of them had not yet arrived. Up next was Canadian pop princess Carly Rae Jepsen. Having conquered the music scene in 2012 with her hit “Call Me Maybe” she seems still to be striving to hit the upper echelons of stardom. She capped her set by inviting three fans on stage to dance with and take selfies!

I shoot live music performances and concerts. I love the excitement of entering a venue, knowing that I’ll be photographing a concert and enjoying the energy of the crowd. There’s nothing like being in a venue and looking at the expressions on the faces of people who are all transfixed by the talent onstage. I shoot about 120 shows each year, averaging 2 bands per show, as well as several all-day and weekend festivals in and around Southern Ontario. From the large venues to very small ones, bright lights or barely lit stages, I hope that my photos capture the enjoyment the artists have in doing what they love to do.
