Nova Scotia based ECMA nominated artist, Jeff Jodrey has been playing guitar for more than 30 years, and it certainly shows on his newest release, Carnival. The release features nine tracks, highlighting the talent that Jeff possesses. His guitar playing shines brightly and you cannot deny that he was born to do this!
Instrumental music always pulls me in, with the relaxing vibe it evokes. The third track, “Now” immediately became my favourite. The guitar playing on this track in particular is extraordinary. I cannot get enough of it.
That being said, the rest of the album follows suit, with tracks like “Carnival” and “Timmy the Cat”, I found myself drifting away into my own memories and that’s one thing that I will always love about instrumental albums.
Be sure to check out this album whether you are a fan of instrumental or not, because it’s the perfect introduction for someone new to the genre.
