EP: I’ve Haunted Myself for Too Long
Release Date: March 10, 2016
Gold Finch is a 4-piece grunge rock band from Waterloo, ON. The band released their debut EP, I’ve Haunted Myself for Too Long on March 10, 2016. The release features five tracks which showcase what the young rockers are capable of.
The first track, “Exhale” is a very heavy, grunge ridden song that would appeal to fans of metal, hard rock and grunge alike. I find that the collection of tracks that band chose for this EP really shows many different sides of the musicians and their abilities to mix genres together.
“Limerence” is a softer track that focuses on the vocals more than some of the other tracks. Although I say it’s softer, it’s still got intense energy and that pure punk rock/ grunge sound that the band is going for.
The final track, “Changing” was easily my favourite on this release, starting with a mellow beat then gradually rising to that high octane sound that Gold Finch has become known for throughout Ontario punk rock community.
Be sure to give Gold Finch a listen and if you like what you hear, keep an eye out for upcoming tour dates this summer to promote the EP.
