What are you most looking forward to at the 2016 Juno awards festivities?
Mike: The Juno Awards show is one of the absolute best to see in Canada. So many incredible performances, I can’t wait. Also there is an amazing event called Fan Fest which gives artists and fans the opportunity to connect. It’s one of my favorites to be a part of. Getting to meet and talk to so many amazing music supporters is really a cool experience.
Tareya: I am really looking forward to the JUNO Songwriters’ Circle! I am so excited and honoured to be sharing the stage with Paul Brandt and Matthew Good! They have been, and continue to be, inspirations to me. I am going to be enjoying the show as a fan as well!
Is there a specific performer you are anxious to see?
Mike: I would have to say Dean Brody! He is one of my favorites and actually took us on tour with him when we had released our first single, he is amazing. I am also really excited for “The Weekend” he is just on top of the world right now, he is so talented and is really making a huge impact on the world stage for Canadian music.
Tareya: There are so many great performers this year! I can’t wait to see Bryan Adams and Dean Brody.
If you could give one up & coming Canadian band a piece of advice, what would it be?
Mike: If music is your passion, your true love, then never stop. Don’t let people talk you out of it. If there is no plan B then plan A has to work. Dream big and make it real.
Tareya: It isn’t exactly my advice — it’s Chris Pratt’s, but it has inspired me so I hope sharing it inspires others! “Don’t give up. Apply constant pressure for as long as it takes. It will break before you do.”
What’s up next for you?
Mike: We are heading out on tour with Gord Bamford and Joe Nichols. I’m so excited for this tour, can’t wait to rock out! Sharing the bill with those artists is a huge privilege it’s going to be an incredible show! Then all summer we will be out on tour on the festival circuit. It’s gonna be an amazing summer.
Tareya: We are going on your this spring with Gord Bamford Joe Nichols! An amazing way to kick off a summer of festivals across Canada! We can’t wait to play our new album, “Anchor” live for our fans.
