Johnny Reid is one of Canada’s golden treasures. The multi platinum, multi CCMA and multi Juno award winner has been calling Calgary home for the last couple of days. Putting on two great shows, Feb. 26th and Feb 27th at the Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. The shows are receiving rave reviews across the board, and the city had been all about the handsome Scotsman.
On Feb. 27, 2016 , Johnny stopped by the London Drugs in Brentwood village shopping centre to meet some of his fans in support of his “What Love is All About Tour”. The first 300 people there were to receive a photo and an autograph from the man himself. The place was packed all the way out the door, with hundreds of hopeful Johnny Reid fans waiting just to get close. London Drugs was even offering makeup sessions, so you could look your best for your photo op.
Johnny came out greeting everyone, even myself, with a smile and a “Hi! How are ya”. He seemed genuinely happy and excited to be there, draped in a very stylish blue suit and looking very dapper. I can honestly say as an observer and having spent a quick moment with him, he really is as nice as you would think he is.
Johnny Reid is continuing across the country until the beginning of April, so check your local listings. He is also nominated at this years Juno awards with a nod for “What Love is All About” in the Adult Contemporary Album of the Year category.
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
