Friday February 5th was a busy day for George Canyon. It was the start of his Wrangler® sponsored cross-Canada “Jekyll and Nothing To Hide Tour”, and his anticipated 11th full-length album, I Got This, was released.
This 12-song album features Canyon’s first single to radio, “I Got This“, which is doing extremely well on the radio charts. It is currently #1 Canadian on the iTunes Country albums chart, and #2 Country album overall. This single is only a taste of what is on this album. There is a perfect mix of upbeat tunes, like “Daughters of the Sun“ and “The Green Side“; ballads like “The Hardest Part of Being In Love”, “Only The Radio Knows”, “Some Horses” and “Lifetime”; and story-telling songs like “The Way It Was”, “Sesame Street” and”Footprints”.
There are two songs that deserve a special mention. It was a pleasant surprise to hear Canyon’s rendition of Snow Patrol‘s hit, “Chasing Cars”. I loved this song when they did it and this one, countrified up, is just as sweet.
The song that moved me the most on this album is called “Remember Me“. It literally gave me chills! Deep and spiritual. It would be my pick for a single to radio down the road. I hope this is one he will perform on the tour.
Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
