Where: Alliston, Ontario
The giving spirit of the holidays was alive and well in Alliston a few weeks ago as several local bands got together in support of a very worthy cause as In the Name Of… A Benefit Concert celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Organizer Adrienne Baldassarra vowed to honour her mother’s life after her brief battle with cancer and has been doing that now for a decade! Two bands on the bill included Braincell Graveyard, a punk metal band from Toronto and Kansas Stone, a country band from Barrie. Braincell Graveyard opened up the show with a loud and extensive set, showcasing music from their two albums and their soon-to-be-released EP. Kansas Stone brought three of its members to perform a stripped down, acoustic set, featuring their latest single, Whiskey & Wine. Both bands have exciting events taking place in 2016, so be sure to follow them on social media and stay tuned to Canadian Beats for updates.

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
