Be sure to grab a copy HERE!

I had the chance to ask Ruth a few questions about her background, and what’s to come, so be sure to check out what she had to say!

When did you decide you wanted to pursue music?

I had always known that music was what I was going to do with my life. It has always been my greatest passion and love. I didn’t know how or when, but I always had this feeling that it was what I was meant to do.

Why did you decide to use vine to get your music out there?

Singing on vine didn’t happen until way after I downloaded the app. At first the idea of trying to capture a song in 6 seconds seemed so odd. I don’t know if it even really crossed my mind until it just happened naturally. I sang a little cover for fun and I woke up the next day with 1000 followers. All the comments were telling me to continue to sing on there and that’s when I decided to stick with it.

Over 2m followers on vine is impressive, how do you promote yourself?

Honestly I just stick strictly to music. My vine is all about the music and I think that’s what people like. All I really do is provide the content. My supporters are the ones who share it with their friends and what not. It’s really awesome.

Do you use all of the social media outlets? If so, which is your favourite?

I do use all of them. I really like all of them for different reasons but I think twitter makes it the easiest to connect with everyone. I love being able to interact with my fans and just talk to them about everyday life.

Your debut ep has been released today (Nov.27), Can you give us any insight on creating the EP?

Yes, my ep the intro comes out today and I couldn’t be more excited! I wrote all 4 songs and produced the ep so I think that makes it even more special to me. As far as creating, the writing process for each song was very unique. I draw inspiration from all sorts of things. Whether it is a personal experience, or something I see, or hear. Usually thats how I get the idea and then from there I just write. The songs are like memories for me now. Everytime I hear them they take me back to that bus ride, or conversation, or person. It’s fun.

When can fans expect a full album release?

Most probably in 2016.

What is your all time favourite song to cover?

Hallelujah- Leonard Cohen

If you had one piece of advice to give to someone just starting out, what would it be?

I think I’m still really just starting out myself but the best advice that I’ve ever received is just to stay true to you. There’s a lot of people who will try to change you and mold you into something you’re not. The best thing you can do is remain true to you through it all.

Can fans expect any tour dates coming soon?

For sure! I’m not exactly sure of when but definitely in the near future.

Whats next for you?

Definitely an album and some tour dates! Right now I’m just very excited to get the EP out.

Last but not least, is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?

Just thank you so much! I have no words to describe how incredible and kind they have been to me. AND always follow your dreams. They really can take you places.
