Kingston, Ontario based Roots group, Luther Wright & The Wrongs have released a brand new album, “Hearts and Lonely Hunters” on November 25, 2015. The album features thirteen tracks and was produced by Chris Brown (Bourbon Tabernacle Choir/ Chris Brown & Kate Femner).
The album has a great collection of slower tracks, mixed in with some upbeat songs that show Luther’s punk passion combined with this roots/ Americana style he has going. I personally couldn’t get into some of the tracks, but that being said, there are a few on here that I did quite enjoy, such as “Black Mark” and “Front Porch”. These two songs have a slight country vibe which I find pulls it all together.
The final song, “While I Was Gone” is another that grew on me, it’s very calm and relaxing and I really enjoyed his vocals on this track. If you’re a fan of roots, country or anything along those lines, then you should give this album a listen, as you might just find some tracks that you enjoy!
