Show Review – Chaos Theory

By: Tara Thompson

When: October 3rd, 2015
Where: Distortion, St. John’s, NL
Who: Rivals, The Combine, Chaos Theory

Chaos Theory had 3 shows in St. John’s during the tour for their new album, We Are Disaster. They played CBTG’s on Thursday night, the next day at The Levee and then rounding out what locals would consider a “deck tour” they played Distortion on Saturday.

The night started off with local metal group Rivals. I can’t even pretend that I know a lot about metal but I do think that I can tell when people are having fun on stage. These guys seemed to genuinely enjoy the music themselves and the music they were playing. The crowd really looked to enjoy it as well.

Next up was The Combine who I have seen play multiple times before. For someone who isn’t really into metal, I’ve always enjoyed their shows.

Closing the night was the main act, Chaos Theory. It was close to 1:30 when they went on stage but that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying themselves. The crowd was really into it as was the band. I unfortunately couldn’t stay for the entire set but I’ve heard great things about the rest of their show.
