Ontario based artist, Juan Barbosa released a very unique album today, Soulbot 6000. I was hooked from the trailer intro, which I found was a unique way to introduce an album, and had you wondering what was coming next.

The title track, “Soulbot 6000” is intense and I simply can’t get enough of it. I can honestly see anyone enjoying this track, and the rest of the album as well.  It has such a unique sound, a mixture of R&B, Soul, Jazz & Rock that leaves you in some sort of trance.

The fourth track, “Love & Pride” which features Christine Heron, is another that immediately embedded itself in my brain. Simply put, this track is mesmerizing and the vocals accompany each other perfectly.

There are 18 tracks on the album, also a selection of them are interludes. Now, I can’t close this review without mentioned “Are You Funky” which is so high energy that had me hyped up and trying to sing along even before I knew the lyrics. This is one of the funnest songs that I have heard in a long time, and I highly recommend you all go check out this album if you’re looking for a great listening experience that will make you want to get up and dance.

Rating: 4/5
