Toronto trio Bravestation is set to release their newest EP ‘V’ on September 4th through Culvert Music. The band, consisting of Devin and Derek Wilson as well as Jeremy Rossetti have combined 80’s synthpop and indie rock to create their unique sound.
The four song release is short but sweet. The music is not normally what I listen to but even I found myself nodding along to the beat and enjoying the songs. Out of the four tracks, my favourite would be a tie between “Haven” and “Gemini”. They both have vocals that show off their indie rock sound and are combined with just enough synth to give them their unique sound.
The EP is put together very well and the songs flow very nicely into each other. This EP will appeal to a lot of different people thanks to the different elements that they tied together. If you’re a fan of the band you’re going to want to get your hands on this EP as soon as you possibly can.
Be sure to check out their show on September 3 at the Drake Hotel along with Young Empires! Canadian Beats will have a writer there, so be sure to check back for our review!
I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
