Halifax, NS based rock band, Quiet Parade is ready to release their new, self-titled album on September 18, 2015 via Acadian Embassy. The band has recently released the album’s lead single, “We Were Here” along with a video, and of course has announced an Eastern Canadian tour; you can find the dates below.
The album is made up of ten tracks, and each is as good as the last. “Heavy Winter” is the second song on the album and one of the first that pulled me in with the intense sound and perfectly executed harmonies. I was instantly hooked on the beat, the vocals and the ever so true lyrics about our winters. This song could easily become one of those songs that I continue to play on repeat.
Trying to choose a favourite on the album was impossible. I enjoyed the whole album from start to finish, although certain songs did stick out to me, whether it’s the music, the lyrics, the vocals or the all-around vibe. One other that got caught in my head almost instantly was the seventh song, “Ancestors”. There is something about this song that had me entranced throughout the entire song. It didn’t take me long to be singing along, and I simply couldn’t get enough.
Rating: 5/5
