Hamilton, ON rock band, Cosmic Horror Story is made up of Dustin Jurkaulionis, Emilio Bonito, Josh Clayton, Chris Verrecchia, and Shawn McTigue. The band released their self-titled EP on June 28, 2015, after working in Dustin’s bedroom, and then sending it to be mixed/ mastered by a Canadian living in Belfast, John Moorehead.

The EP consists of three songs, that are available on their Bandcamp. I personally enjoyed all three tracks, but the favourite being “Vagrant” which is very mellow sounding. These are not the type of songs that I would find myself singing along with, more the type that I could drift away into the music.

“Merrily” is the third and final track, and is the longest off of the EP, clocking in at over five minutes. This song has moments where it’s more upbeat than the rest of the EP, but for the most part the band continues their mellow, relaxing sound that kept me interested all along.

Rating: 3.5/5
