Craig Moritz is a true Alberta boy and animal activist with some rocking country music hits. We have written about Craig before recently as he had just finished up doing a couple outdoor shows at a pop up cafe downtown Calgary promoting green spaces within the city. This time it was a complete surprise as I went out to enjoy the country music festivities in the Nashvillie North tent at the Calgary Stampede. A girlfriend and I got on our dancing shoes and hit the town, not realizing we were actually in for a great show. Craig Moritz was set to play the tent every night between July 8th and July 12th. We happened to catch him on the 9th and he sure rocked the tent! The entire place was dancing and singing along to not only Craig’s hits like “Good Time Comin On” but also to old country classics like “Fishin In The Dark”. Craig’s show is definitely a boot stomping good time that makes the stampede just that much better! Be sure to check Craig out at this years Big Valley Jamboree on August 2nd in Camrose with other country stars like Lady Antebellum and Lee Brice. Huge shout out to Craig and his crew for all of their kindness and for showing us the many uses of a tiny little suitcase 🙂
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
