Who – Sun K
When – June 30th 2015
Where – Ironwood Stage and Grill
Sun K is a Toronto based Folk/Rock band with more than what it talks to make it big. Here at Canadian Beats we have been lucky enough to review them a couple times. What can we say, We can’t get enough! The boys are currently on their Western Skies tour and recently made a stop in Calgary to play the Ironwood Stage and Grill.
This was my first time experiencing Sun K. And that’s what their show is, an experience. My first thought was this is a big band in a small venue. I mean these guys played this place as if they were playing the stadium show of a lifetime. Sun K are true artists that have perfected their art. Listening to them you immediately realize this is what real music is really about. Their passion for music comes seeping through every note, chord and every lyric. I absolutely enjoyed every second and would definitely go again. The Western Skies tour still has a few stops left including Saskatchewan and Thunder Bay. Seriously guys don’t miss out on this experience!
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
