Toronto based Hip Hop artist, Maestro Fresh Wes has been in the music industry for 25 years, and is still at it. He has released a brand new EP entitled “Compositions: Volume 1” via Wes Williams Enterprises and Fontana North.  The EP  is made up of seven tracks and features collaborations with many of Canada’s hottest emerging artists, such as JRDN, Rich Kidd & King Reign to name a few.

The second track, “Underestimated” features JD ERA and JRDN, and I would have to say this one of my favourites on the EP. It’s a song that I found myself singing along with, then starting from the beginning again and again.

The other that stood out to me was “Born In Toronto” which features recent Juno winner, Rich Kidd. It’s great to hear a song written in full about Toronto and the beat of this song is addictive.

There are two versions of “I Know Your Mom”, one original and one remix featuring Rich Kidd. This song is one that you will find yourself rapping along with, even if you’re like me and can’t rap at all! You’ll make the effort, I guarantee it.

Wes “Maestro” Williams is one of the most influential hip hop artists in Canada, and has always been closely tied to the community through public speaking, mentoring and encouraging everyone. We need more artists like him in the industry.
