The 3rd Annual CMAO Awards Show felt more like a family reunion where all the family members happen to be extremely talented. On April 25, 2015 The Country Music Association of Ontario awarded it’s finest in country music this province has offer.
Hosted by Jason McCoy (The Road Hammers), the host with the most brought a lot of fun and comic relief to the show to make sure everyone was having a good time!
From the Lace reunion to kick off the show to the last few sweet sounds from the WSA (Western Swing Authority) after they closed the show with Jason McCoy, the energy never flagged. It is amazing to see the talent Ontario has to offer and the respect the artists have for each other.
In a night filled with excellent performances, the awards were almost secondary – everyone was there to enjoy a night of great music and to celebrate their Ontario pride. Tim Hicks and Small Town Pistols may have taken home the most trophies, but all the nominees should be very proud to be part of such a great community.
Wendell Ferguson’s tribute to the legacy of outgoing president, Sam Arraj, was heartfelt and moving. With a production of such high quality it is easy to forget that the organization only started 8 years ago. It is a tribute to many people who volunteer their time to make this such a wonderful event.
Congratulations to all the artists and the amazing talent in Ontario.
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
