One of Canada’s newest up and coming singer/songwriters, Kayd, released her debut EP “Pivotal” this past week. After listening to the ‘Pivotal’ single, I was instantly excited to see what more she had to bring to the table.

Kayd draws a lot of inspiration from Hayley Williams of Paramore. Much like Hayley, Kayd has very strong and moving vocals that never back down or wither. Though she is an inspiration, Kayd is not mimicking. She has her own voice and lets it shine.

My favourite songs off this EP are definitely ‘So?’ and ‘B.O.Y.’.  With ‘So?’ , you really get that rock like sound and it draws you in instantly. Once she starts singing, you’re hooked.

“B.O.Y” is super sassy and I absolutely love  it. I really like a song with attitude.

This album is definitely a must have for this year. If you decide to download it, you won’t regret it!
