Hollow twin is a Vancouver based rock group composed of Emmalee Watts, Becky Wosk, Michell Willams, Matt Johnson and Joanne Zoleikhapour. The group has released their new EP Keepers today (April 28, 2015). The 5 track album is sure to make waves with both the industry and fans.
The first track that hits you with sultry vocals and incredible instrumentals is “Live a little”. It’s the perfect start to an easy flowing journey through stories and heartfelt lyrics that transcend the entire album. “What I Wanted” is my personal favourite it pulls you in with the ever so powerful lyrics and catchy melody. The album closes perfectly with “Lighthouse”. The only complaint I have Is that the album came to a close at all.
Keepers is a great addition to any music fans collection. Hollow Twin is sure to put their own soulful and vintage stamp on Canada’s music scene. After once being asked what they would want their music to convey, Emmalee and Becky answered “thought provoking, meaningful and just to be a strong, independent person, be in touch with yourself and go after what you want.” One might suggest they have done what they have set out to do. I would recommend this album to anyone be sure to check it out.
I’m Heather Young. I am 29 years old and from Calgary. I’m the mother of a 6 year old boy and I work with children as a developmental assistant. I have always had a passion for writing and music so working for Canadian Beats is right up my alley. I love every genre of music as long as it catches my attention, it’s on my playlist, from rap to country. When I’m not working or writing I love to spend time outside with my son playing games or going for walks.
