Genre: Indie Pop/Rock
Andrew Johnston hails from Montreal, Quebec. Johnston is about to go on a two week Ontario tour in support of his latest EP. The EP was cut short so he can work on a full- length project, which is produced by Dear’s Murray Lightburn.
When I first started listening to this EP I was instantly hooked. Johnston has this clear voice that will bring in any new fan. The songs on the EP are catchy and are different then any other indie EP. “The Year Of All Risks” showed off his talent because you couldn’t keep my still while listening to the track and towards the end of the song I was singing along.
I cannot just find only one favourite on this EP. I enjoyed all of the songs and it will be added to my music library. At the beginning of the EP I thought Johnston sounded like Dallas Green from City and Colour but as the EP progressed I started hearing his own voice. If you are in to this type of music I suggest checking it out.
If Andrew Johnston is coming to a city near you I suggest checking out his shows and seeing his talent first hand.

I’m Lindsay and I’m a Journalism student at Humber College in Toronto, ON. I am one of Canadian Beats newest writers, starting in October 2014. I’m a concert enthusiast and I enjoy going to local shows to support the music scene. I love to see the happiness on the bands as well as the fans faces. Music and writing has always been a huge passion of mine, I think being a dancer has a big part of that. I will more than likely see you at a concert so come say hi!
