The DNA Project is a collaboration with many musicians to provide you with a custom band to suit any occasion. They provide entertainment for your corporate galas and private events such as weddings. Any time you need live music, they can probably help you out. They even offer musicians for studio sessions. Want to learn more? For those who don’t know you, can you describe what exactly you do?
The DNA Project is becoming The GTA’s leader in Live Entertainment for anything from weddings and corporate events, to hired artist/studio work. Drawing from our team of nearly 30 musicians, we customize bands to meet the specific needs of each client or project. For example, you may be a vocalist already booking performances but need a band to accompany you, based on your music and vision we will create the perfect solution for you. For weddings and events we customize the band based on musical preference, style and budget!
Why did you start The DNA Project?
The idea behind the venture, The DNA Project, was to team up with various musicians to create music and recordings that feature different singers and musicians, and then offer that collaboration to clients through live performance. We wanted to create our Brand of entertainment, comprised of talent that could be readily available for various musical applications. In early days, The DNA Project would call on musicians as gigs came in – but after tremendous success, the group now has a regular roster of 30 different musicians from Brampton and the GTA. It has been a true labor of love!
What kind of shows do you perform? Are there any particular genres you do/don’t do?
Our musicians are extremely well-versed in many genres and versatile. I personally enjoy playing anything with a groove to it! We have enjoyed working for artists and clients with preference to everything from R&B, Reggae, Top40’s, Disco, Funk, Gospel, Classic Rock, Old School, Smooth Jazz and Classical.
What can someone expect from your musicians if they hire you?
Our musicians are extremely talented, and a great mix of amazing personalities that show both on and off of the stage. We have a very high standard of what’s expected of our team and ourselves. People hiring our musicians can expect their guests/fans to be wowed by the calibre of talent and high, positive energy that we bring to every single performance! We want people to have access to what we do and the music we play. “We are that one place you can go and have someone take care of all your needs. We have partnered with some great companies to make us a one-stop-shop.
What areas do you perform in?
We are based in The GTA but have worked throughout Southern Ontario. We also have musicians that are available to work outside of Ontario/Canada.
How far in advance should someone contact you if they wish to hire you for an event?
We currently have dates booked throughout Summer and into 2016. So our team is quite busy, typically 2-6 months gives a good window of availability for us to book the right people for your event or show.
Is there anything else your customers should know about your service?
The DNA Project is growing rapidly. We truly believe that music is a universal language that brings us all together. In fact, our slogan is “We are brought together by life, love and music – it’s in our DNA!”
“Where business (Corporate) meets music – that’s the definition of who I am” – Anthony Lewis (The DNA Project)
The DNA Project on social media:
I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
