Tessa Mouzourakis is a singer/songwriter from Vancouver. Although only 17 years old, she has written over 50 songs, plays guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano, and won the Your Voice in the Park contest in 2012 which had her video played between performances of Stevie Nicks, Bryan Adams, Hedley, and more. With an incredible amount of talent even at such a young age, you’re going to want to buy this EP and keep it on repeat.
The EP although only five songs in length is packed full of catchy inspired lyrics and music. If you wanted to get a gist of what the EP sounds like, be sure to check out “Bad Boys”, “Close my Eyes”, and “Drive All Night”. Throughout the EP, the songs tell stories of young love and the trials it has to go through to survive. With influences such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Sara Bareilles evident in her lyrics and music, there isn’t a single song that disappoints.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed when I listened to this EP, even more so when I learned that she was as young as she is. There aren’t many 17 year olds that could harness their voice and talent this well to put out such a quality release. If you are a fan of the more pop side of country, you will love this EP.

I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
