Melanie Durrant is a three-time Juno nominee from Toronto. Today she released her album Anticipation. The second song on Anticipation, “Four Seasons” is up for this year’s 2015 Juno Awards.

The album first reminded me of a playlist from my local coffee shop. It has that smooth sounding, relaxing feel to it that can put you in a good mood when drinking coffee while sitting down to a good book.

I also feel like the album takes you back to the 1950’s-1960’s, with a modern twist. This is especially the case for the song “Four Seasons”. The tone of her voice brings you back but the modern up beat of the music returns you to 2015.

“Mr. Wonderful” is probably my favourite song off the album. It makes me sway back and forth with a feel good, happy go lucky mood.

Rating: 4/5
