Violent Love is the newest album from The Red Threat, released November 18th. Ty Elgie, Evan Watson, Quinn Cyrankiewicz, Tyson Morrie and Brent Rodgers make up the Edmonton band.

Violent Love is a great album. It’s angsty, upbeat and strong, just like any punk rock type of album should be. I really wish I had listened to it sooner because this is a great fit to my playlist. The mix of the accented, almost screaming vocals and the intense singing has to be one of my favourite parts about what makes this band awesome.

Lost Cause is the second track on the album and getting me to stop listening to it might be a lost cause. (See what I did there? Cheesy, I know.)

Duality is a slower song which demonstrates the flexibility of the band. The Red Threat definitely can do both the hyped up music and the softer edgy type. I really enjoy how this song is a duet and the vocals match well.

If you love punk rock, take a listen. I’m sure you’ll fall in love just like I did!
