Toronto metal band, Laugh At The Fakes, released their album “Dethrone” today. This is their second album since their first release, “One Night Only” in 2011. This new album was produced by Greg Dawson and mastered by Andy VanDette. The band features Everett Mason, Galen Weir, Kevin Daliri and Chris Avalos.
The first thing that comes to mind when listening to this album for me is, ironically, head banging, because that’s what I was doing as I listened to it. The entire album keeps up the ante and definitely doesn’t get boring.
My favourite songs from the album are “Death Awaits”, “Fighting Dirty” and “Harmonica Playing Man”. They all are very strong in every aspect; vocals, lyrics, bass, drums, guitar… basically all of it works together really well.
For people who are into the classic rock bands and still love today’s metal will really enjoy this album. It is perfect fit to any playlist for people who are fans of either of these genres.
I’m an aspiring entertainment journalist from Fredericton, New Brunswick, and a 2017 graduate from St. Thomas University with majors in Journalism and Psychology.
Aside from psychology, my passion has always been for music and storytelling. It is my dream to be in the industry, and music journalism seems to be the perfect fit. Along with a bit of photography dabbling, I think I’m pretty well on on my way.
When I’m not working, I’m listening to music, finding new artists to love, playing Dungeons and Dragons, or playing with my cats.
